Michael Scanlan

Michael heads our private client team. He has had a varied career, initially specialising in litigation and general civil business, now concentrating on wills, trusts and executries, domestic and commercial conveyancing. His breadth of experience in most aspects of law and his reputation as approachable and good humoured means he is often consulted by other solicitors. Despite a busy and demanding work schedule, Michael has found time to sit as a Temporary Sheriff, lecture at Strathclyde University, be a member of the Council of the Law Society of Scotland and had the honour of serving as President of the Law Society of Scotland. Michael is also a member of the Scottish Committee of Administrative Justice and Tribunals service.  Michael has just completed a term of Office on the Judicial Appointments Board and is currently the President of the Scottish Law Agents Society.  Despite his very distinguished career, Michael remains happy to tackle the problems of the disadvantaged at our Office in Govan as well as meeting the challenges of high level commercial Conveyancing.
